you, you look like ronald reagan and you release the hostages. >> you'll find a lot of quotes saying all options are on the table. >> you can also find a lot of quotes from ronald reagan, i will use military power and never hear one from barack obama nor the words, islamist extremist terrorist whose carried out attack on our ambassador and killed him. instead, a bump in the road. a bump in the road? >> thank you so much, sir. >> thanks for joining us. >>> the rest of the top stories. two american soldier, killed in an attack by a suicide bomber in afghanistan. a third american soldier injured there. the attack happened in the a district just south of afghanistan's capital of kabul. a spokesman said the suicide bomber detonated himself during a military operation. >>> a fraternity at the university of knoxville is a suspended over alcohol enemas. 12 students cited for underage drinks, another disorderly conduct. one student rushed to the hospital with alcohol poisons, blood alcohol level five times the legal limit. he is out of the hospital reportedly back in class. >>> and pic

presidential. what ronald reagan did with jimmy carter, he stood occupy the stage and you saw the two gentlemen side by side and you recognized, i think this person could be the president. maybe he should be the president. i don't think mitt romney has to, quote/unquote, win this debate. he just needs to show he's presidential, show he's compassionate and i think that will shine through tonight. >> i think what you're laying out is a bunch of contradictions. have you to be aggressive but also presidential. have you to be humble but make sure that everyone can understand the respect for your -- i mean, that is a huge challenge. >> i think mitt romney has a tight rope to walk. i would ask the congressman, how do you do it? we know this, one of the major currencies in this debate is likability. winning these bates has lost, impacted presidential elections, nixon or al gore. what those candidates lost on is likability. how do you take an aggressive tone? how do you go after the president on his record without coming off course? how do you be the likeable guy? >> yeah. well, mitt romney ju

not ronald reagan has prepared as much as he has so no question he will have a lead on how prepared he is. you would seeing that think president obama has never navigated a single successful debate. aren't they lowering the bar. you lower expectations so if anybody does pretty well, you win the game, you win the debate? >> the facts are the facts. what we remember from the republican nominating process, as much as i didn't want to watch them, i found myself watching them because i was amazed at the things going on. one after another, romney did seem to win and declared the winner by most of the pundits. in the end, it's about both of them going out there and doing the best they can. >> it's also how people perceive it as well. if you look at a cnn roc poll that talks about who's more likely to win the debates. obama, 59% believe he will win the debate, mitt romney, 34% believe. that has to be a concerning number, right, if the expectation is very high, if you don't meet or reach above that, you have a problem. are you worried about that? >> my guess is what people are really saying,

was true with ronald reagan when he debated jimmy carter. it can make a difference. mitt romney needs to come out and be very aggressive about the president's policies and his solutions. and i think he will do real good. >> we know they've been rehearsing zingers or we're told by a "new york times" report this morning that mitt romney has been practicing zingers. i guess practicing them on some of his aides as well. you just talked about substance. others have been focusing on, well, really it's the moments and the zingers that make the difference. which do you think it is? >> there has to be a sense throughout -- at the end of the debate, the viewer will have a sense as to who can be the better leader for the united states. and mitt romney has to come across as, well, he can do a better job leading the united states on domestic policies. so it's an impression that the viewer will get overall. it will be the zingers. but it will be really the impression. who can create the better impression of leadership and that person will win the debate. >> i must say, it was really something
